Director of Youth Ministries

First Presbyterian Church of Burlingame is located on the San Francisco peninsula within driving distance of San Francisco, Monterey, redwood forests and Lake Tahoe.  We are seeking a full-time Director of Youth Ministries to partner with the Associate Pastor of Discipleship and a dedicated leadership team to provide vision and leadership in ministering to 7th through 12th grade youth.    The ultimate goal is to lead youth into a deeper relationship with Jesus Christ to assist in making decisions youth are faced with in today’s environment. This is a high profile position within our church that has the full support of the Senior Pastor and Session.  The individual selected will build a balanced ministry which includes developing personal relationships with students, developing an adult leadership team, building a small group ministry and working as a team with other adults to create opportunities for youth to deepen and strengthen their faith through involvement with the rest of the church family. Key to this position is the ability to build partnerships and collaborative relationships with other ministries within the church, particularly Worship and Outreach/Mission.  This person will supervise a full time Youth Intern.

This is a full-time position with benefits.

Salary up to, DOE         $55,000

Medical & Dental         11,825             

Book Allowance             $  500  

Required Qualifications

• Enthusiastic passion for Christ and a deep desire to share the love of Christ with junior high and high school students
• Possess a Bachelor’s Degree
• Must have 2 years experience working with middle school and high school students
• Ability to utilize modern communication technologies (text messages, web site)
• Must possess an ability to work with others in partnerships and teams
• Administrative and organizational skills, such as planning, scheduling, project management and event coordination
• Creativity and ability to communicate openly
• Collaborative work style
• Ability to play an instrument, such as a guitar or piano (Preferred)
